Classes ** REGISTER** We began teaching together in 1996. Our program in Sacramento and Auburn grew through 2003, when we married. The years of our involvement in the Sacramento tango community were years of growth and excitement, and we are very proud of the contributions from our efforts and the efforts of the distinguished series of visiting Argentine Master Teachers we sponsored over the years. This year (2007) we have resumed group classes at Drake High School through the Tamalpais High School District adult education program. Wednesday Beginning
Level I. 7:00pm to 8:30pm (go to
**Register**
for dates, cost and room assignment). This 4 week session will
introduce you to the world of Argentine Tango. You will learn the basic
movement, skills and cultural knowledge needed to begin dancing and progress
onto higher levels. This is the
foundation of your dance! Practice and Demonstrations. 8:00-8:30pm. Between the Level 1 and Level 2 class, there will be supervised practice, question time, cultural presentations and often a demonstration dance by Debbie and John. This time is recommended for BOTH Level 1 and Level 2 students. Wednesday Continuing Class Level II. 8:00 to 9:30 (go to **Register** for dates, cost and room assignment). Going beyond the beginning class and reinforcing what you've learned. We concentrate on specific skills such as moving in and out of cross system, back and forward ochos, and the introduction to turns (giros and molinetes). Partnering skills are strengthened and taught through carefully selected figures and improvisation. Many students find it helpful to continue in Level 1 as well during transition to Level 2. Most students need 3-6 months to acquire the skills, qualities and cultural knowledge of Level 2. Debbie and John |
